This topic is in the 'Rational Functions' section. In arithmetic we learn about fractions, which are funny looking expressions that are just tools for writing down that one number is divided by another. We learn a bunch of rules for working with fractions, but they are basically all grounded in arithmetic, and so with time they start to make sense. Rational functions are a lot like fractions, except they usually represent ratios of variable expressions, instead of just ratios of numbers. The rules for working with rational functions are basically the same as the rules that you know for fractions, but it takes some practice to see that connection. Our tutorials in this section will help you see those connections and give you some much needed practice:)
This topic, Simplifying Rational Expressions, is a part of Multiplying and Dividing Rational Expressions.
