Hello Educators!

Welcome Educators!

We're here to help you help your students — anytime, anywhere!

It's impossible to be available to every student, every time he or she needs help. That's why we built Virtual Nerd! We use our patent-pending e-learning platform to provide anytime, anywhere access to online tutorials.

We're focused on helping students. But we have a lot to offer educators as well, starting with free access to our entire library of tutorials!

Educators' FAQs

Do you offer licenses for schools/classrooms?

Yes. We offer Virtual Nerd School Edition for that very purpose. Click here for more information.

Does Virtual Nerd give answers to homework questions?

No. We do not believe that providing answers to students' homework problems is an effective way to facilitate learning. Instead, our philosophy is to reinforce what students are taught in class, so they learn the concept, can apply what they have learned and can solve problems on their own. Our extensive library of tutorials is developed by Virtual Nerd and unique to Virtual Nerd. So, while our tutorials explain how to solve typical homework problems, they can't be used as a shortcut to the answer.

Which subjects does Virtual Nerd currently cover?

Virtual Nerd currently offers hundreds of tutorials in Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Intro Physics.

Which subjects does Virtual Nerd plan to cover in the future?

We are currently working on completing our coverage of middle grades math and will then be expanding into grades as early as grade 3. Let us know which subjects you're most eager to have us cover, and we'll see what we can do.

How do I get access to your tutorials?

As an educator, you'll always be entitled to access all of the features and content Virtual Nerd offers, all for free. All we ask in return is that you provide us with verifiable credentials of your status as an educator during the signup process. Simply click here to create your free account!

How do my students access your tutorials?

We encourage you to share our tutorials with your students in the classroom by logging in with your educator account and displaying our tutorials on a smart board, projection screen, computer monitor or other display device. Parents can provide at-home access for their child by signing up for one of our subscriptions plans, which start at 24-hours for $5 $3, for a limited time. Want to learn more about those plans? Click here. Remember that unlimited access is always free for qualified educators.

Can I create an account and have all of my students use the same log-in information?

While this is technically possible, we do not recommend it. A student might inadvertently change the email address or password on the account, rendering it inaccessible to everyone else, including you. Furthermore, we will soon be releasing some great features making Virtual Nerd an even more powerful learning tool, and these features can only work if each student has his or her own account.

Can students practice their skills with Virtual Nerd?

Currently, practice problems can be integrated into our Playlists. Very soon, we will be launching a breakthrough platform focused on formative assessment that will allow students to work on practice problems, take quizzes and get feedback. Bi-directional connections between our tutorials and our practice problems will allow students to progressively test, reinforce and troubleshoot their learning process in ways never before possible. Students and educators will also be able to track progress over time and identify topics or concepts that may need further review. If you're interested in a preview of our forthcoming practice problem functionality, please contact us.

How do you create your tutorials? Who writes/edits/presents the information?

We work with a staff of experienced educators—teachers and tutors—to build original course content consistent with current textbooks. We complete an extensive review of the top textbooks and link our original content to textbook problems and concepts. We also ensure our content is aligned with standards defined by national math and science educators.
