Virtual Nerd, LLC is looking for self motivated subject-matter experts in high school math and science to join the Virtual Nerd team and lead the development and design of unique and dynamic online tutorials.
About You
Knowledge And Educational Experience
- You ideally have a Master's degree in math and/or science.
- You have experience teaching, tutoring, or training.
- You have developed educational or training content/curriculum.
- You have taught students who “don't get it”, as well as advanced students that ask “why” questions.
- You can start from a specific concept and easily identify related concepts and example problems.
- Your work is complete, creative, aesthetically pleasing, and well structured.
- You have successfully managed a team.
Organizational and Management Experience
- You have experience teaching and/or tutoring math and/or science at the high school level.
- You are an extremely efficient organizer, and proud of it. You are adept at breaking down a large problem into a series of manageable smaller pieces.
- You are a skilled project manager.
- You are comfortable training, motivating, and leading a team towards a goal that you define.
- You have a critical eye and are detail-oriented enough to spot errors and assist in quality control.
- You work independently, passionately and with a sense of urgency.
Computer Skills
- You are comfortable using spreadsheet, word-processing, outlining, and image editing software, with intermediate skill level in PowerPoint and Excel.
- You learn new computer skills quickly.
